Agust n de Betancourt was a military man, engineer and great enlightened master of engineers and architects, born in Tenerife in 1758. Throughout a dazzling career that would lead him to be a protagonist of history in three different countries, he contributed to improving the lives of his fellow citizens with countless technological innovations in the field of public works. Even today, almost 300 years later, the figure of this universal Canary Islander is still remembered around the world.
